Hot tubbing in the winter

feet up

Nothing says Christmas party like a soak in a hot tub right? Ok, maybe not, but it is a great way to spend a cold December night. We were over to Greg and Alyssa’s place on the weekend for a pre-Christmas get together and as you can see in the photo to the left, JK, Dana, myself and Grant took advantage of the fact that Greg and Alyssa have a hot tub at their new place. As a matter of fact, I think we’ve used it more than they have! We weren’t the only ones who ventured out to the tub, just the first. Trev, Julie, and Greg also enjoyed some time in the warm water. JK and I were the only ones brave enough to try rolling around in the snow though – as you can see from this photo.

Hot tubs are definitely best enjoyed in the winter in my opinion. Just make sure you wear a toque! I’d love for Amy and I to get a hot tub at some point, it’s just a matter of working it into the budget. I made sure to get a 200 amp entrance at our new place just so we’d be prepared. The other challenge will be to design the deck to fit a hot tub in while minimizing stairs – hot tub plus winter equals icy deck around the hot tub…icy stairs equals mucho pain! At any rate – I’m hoping we get back out to the east end again sometime this winter…good times!

I believe I also witnessed my husband rolling around in the snow. He wasn’t idiotic enough to do it as often as Kevin and John, but he was in there none the less…

  • Right you are Jules – Trev did try out the snow bath as well. I never claimed to have a good memory…
