As I alluded to in my previous posts on parental leave, Dave and I had been getting out to play some DG fairly regularily in the month of August. We were probably averaging 3 times a week and problably 5 rounds so about 90 holes a week total. That’s a fair bit of golf and Dave has certainly been benefiting from all the extra play. As for myself – I’m not seeing any real improvement but Dave assures me I’m getting better. I think he’s just trying to keep me interested so he has someone to play with. :)
In my attempt to get the most out of my final week of parental leave, Dave and I hit a course every day for 8 straight days! Trev even came up from Brockville one day to join us. Our ‘usual’ course (and the one we play the most at) is Jacque Cartier Park, which is across the river in Hull, but we also visited the 9 hole course in Kanata as well as the ‘summer’ course at Camp Fortune. The reason it is a summer only course is because it’s located on a ski hill. Due to this fact – the course is VERY challenging but was also a nice change of scenery. By the end of the 8th day my right shoulder / upper arm was absolutely killing me and begging for some time off, and since it was back to work for me – that’s exactly what it got.
We’re confined to playing on the weekends now but we’ll likely try to continue playing at least until the snow flies, and perhaps even into the winter. Following Trev’s lead, both Dave and I ordered new bags from the Internet Disc Shop and they only recently showed up. I’m anxious to fill it up and get back out on the course!

and ready to go Kev…. we’ll have to get out next weekend if we’re both in town! :D
