Liam’s first Apple product?

iPood - Liam's first Apple product

Well not quite – but pretty funny nonetheless. Grant and Bonnie got this “iPood” diaper shirt for Liam just after he was born. You probably can’t read it on the small photo to the left, but at the top of the ‘click wheel’ it says “change me”. Pretty clever if you ask me. Let me tell you, I was pretty happy to be able to put this on him, and so begins my first story about baby poo…

Ever heard of the band The Arrogant Worms? Well they have a song titled “Baby Poo” which has been running through my mind ever since Liam was born.

It wasn’t too long after Liam was born that I got the honour of changing a diaper full of tar poo, pretty standard stuff with a brand new baby I’m told. Well after that big load of tar, and perhaps a couple of smaller tar like poos, we didn’t see much, if anything, from him for probably a couple of days. I was beginning to get really worried – especially since I was seeing charts saying when they are x days old they should have y number of dirty diapers. We got to the point where the nurse said, “I’d like to see him have a poo before you guys are released.” Well to make a long story short, he eventually did have a good poo and has been making up for lost time ever since. As a reward, he got to wear his new iPood shirt. :)

Did I ever think I’d be happy to be changing a diaper full of crap? Not a chance – but then again, I never thought I’d be writing a blog post about baby poo either… I’ll say sorry now Liam for the embarassment this could cause you when you’re older. :)
