Hurray! He’s finally here!!! After a couple of really tough days for Amy, our son is finally born! As you can likely tell from the title of this post, we named him Liam. I say ‘we’ named him Liam, but in reality Amy let me have my way this time because I’ve been saying I was going to name my first son Liam for a long time.
Amy ended up going in for a c-section and it’s probably better she did because Liam came out weighing a whopping 9 pounds, 12 and a half ounces! Happy to say he wasn’t the heaviest baby of the day, that honour went to the 9 pound, 15 ounce baby! Liam is quite long (like his dad) too, measuring in at 22 inches.
Amy is at the hospital resting right now (I got kicked out because we didn’t get a private room) so I’m here at home, drinking a couple of beers (thanks for the suggestion Trev!) and posting this note. I’ll be heading back to the hospital in the morning. I believe visiting hours are between 1800 and 2000 and we’d love to see you if you have time to stop in.

We’re happy to hear that Liam, mommy and daddy are all doing well, and look forward to meeting Baby Haggaret! J.
Congratulations guys! I’m so happy for you that it’s over and you finally have your beautiful baby boy in your arms. Hopefully Amy will heal well and quickly. All the best to the three of you! We’ll be up to visit as soon as possible when we get back from NB (Christine and I anyway, Trev may go up without us). Can’t wait to see you!
Julie
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
SO happy for you both (or, I guess, for the 3 of you!). Keep us posted! Erica
Congrats, Glad to hear everyone is doing well… Very Cute, now David will have to fight for the ladies, the good thing is women seem to like older men so at least he has an advantage :)
Congratulations!
Glad that everybody made the journey okay. Maya’s reaction to the news that the Liam was born – “The baby’s not in Amy’s tummy anymore?”
Kevin, welcome to fatherhood, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – it’s amazing how well the body can adapt to sleep depravation.
Congratulations!!!
Can’t wait to meet Liam. Luisa, Kyle Achito, and I wish you all the best to you and your family.
Excellent!
Congratulations!!!
I am so happy for the three of you!!! Glad to hear everyong is doing well. I can’t wait to meet the little Liam!!

Meg and I wish the Haggaret family all the best from Munich, glad to see you all made it through the journey. What’s the birthday? The 26th or 27th? Here’s hoping for the 26th!
As has been said, congratulations! Let the games begin. Wow! That’s a big baby Amy had to carry around. Good practice for the years to come, eh? Hope to see all 3 of you soon. Call if you need a meal delivery ;-)
A big CONGRATULATIONS to the new parents, especially to Amy for all of her hard work. Here’s hoping that Mama and the Babe have quick recoveries from the big event, and that all three of you have a magical time getting to know each other. All the best, Andrea, Patrick, and Helena
Congrats Amy & Kevin it is nice to finally see the baby. He is beautiful like his mother (and good looking like his dad). Only one thing Kevin: no more running, biking or playing ultimate; sucks to be you in that department.hahahah
AGAIN CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!
Kev and Amy,
We want to let you know guys how happy we’re for the arrival of Liam. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Ryan has been asking to see the picture of his cousin on the computer and telling us. Is Amy’s baby!! over and over.
So guys take a break after those two busy days. We’re looking forward to see in person the newest member of the Haggaret-Hunter family when Amy and you’re are more rested.
Did I say rested? I don’t think so.
Kev! Welcome to the sleepless daddy’s club. Now you’ll give anything for 2 hours straight of sleep. I TOLD YOU!!
All the best guys.
See you soon
Gus, Angela and the new proud cousin Ryan
Congratulations to both Mum and Dad, happy to hear that all parties are doing well.
Out of curiosity… what happens when Haggarety rule conflict with Haggarety rules?
All the best,
Adam & Terri
Wow! Thanks so much to everyone for their well wishes – it’s nice to know that so many people are thinking of us. And thanks to those who were able to make it to the hospital to visit.
To clear up a few things, Liam was born on Tuesday, Sept 26th at 2157. As I already mentioned, he weighed in at 9 pounds, 12.5 ounces (4436 grams) but has since dropped nearly a pound – he’s down to 8 pounds, 14 ounces now. There is a good chance his initial weight was heavily influenced by the 30 hours that Amy was on IV before he was born – she’s certainly swelled up a lot from it! At any rate, we’ve been told that his weight loss is nothing to worry about.
We’re glad to be back home but a bit anxious as you can imagine. We’re supposed to take care of this little guy with no support staff of nurses on call?!
I’m planning to post something about MY view of this whole experience, but given free time is at a premium right now, it may be a while before I get around to it.
Thanks again for all the support. Looking forward to everyone meeting little Liam.
P.S. Now that I’m home – I’ll post the rest of the pictures I’ve taken so far. As always, check Flickr! for updates but here is a link.
Wow – Many many CONGRATULATIONS to you all! Liam is beautiful!! Enjoy every moment of the ethereal haze that follows for the first 2-3 months. Hope to see you all soon!
