So I somehow managed to delete all the comments on my site. I really don’t have any idea how I did it, except maybe that I was deleting old comments when I thought I was deleting comment SPAM. ARGH! I’m going to have to see if I can dig up an old backup of my database and restore at least some of the old comments…
CRAP!
Well I managed to get back most of my old comments but sadly not all of them. I seem to have lost all the comments from about 23 weeks ago until today. I guess I’ve learned a valuable lesson – back up my databases more often! Which reminds me…time to go and create a cron job to backup my databases at least weekly.
For those of you who have commented in the last 23 weeks, kindly repost your comments. ;)
Well I finally got off my ass and with some help from Dave I managed to set up a script and cron job that will backup my (and Steve and Jody’s) blog database and copy it over to Dave’s machine. I’m trying to get Andy in the loop too for double redundancy. :)
