Training update

So much for my training so far, it was pretty much non existent in week 2. The only running I managed last week was the long run on Saturday and I didn’t even get the whole 7 miles in.

Week one started ok but when I got around to Thursday I skipped that run for some reason. Can’t remember why now. The weekend of week one happened to coincide with that last weekend before we moved out of our old place and therefore there was no running for me. If I had been *really* devoted to the training program I likely would have squeezed in a run but I was already starting to feel run down and with all the packing still to do, it fell by the wayside.

I managed to beat my body into submission with all the packing and lack of sleep so that I picked up a nasty cold which pretty much cancelled all my running for week 2. As I mentioned above, I did get a long run in on Saturday, but it was more like 6.5 miles as opposed to 7. I can live with that, especially since I’d rather settle for 6.5 miles of running with two friends as opposed to 7 miles by myself.

This week should be much better – especially since I’ve got access to a treadmill again. I think Grant may even join me for some midweek runs so that’ll be nice. In place of my long run this weekend (which was only supposed to be 5 miles) I may do a snowshoe race with Steve…we’ll see.

Anyways, need to make a concerted effort to get back into the training regime.
