Still running

Seems like a while since I’ve posted about running. In actuality I guess it’s only been a week. Anyways, I’m still running. Did an hour outside on Saturday in Bowmanville.

We were down visiting Amy’s sisters (and their husbands of course) mainly because it was Amy’s nephew’s birthday – he turned two. As a side note, the party was fun – apart from one little hellian (who will remain nameless) who was out of control.

Anyways, I got up late (around 0930) on Saturday and went for an hour long run. I basically ran around the neighbourhood until an hour was up. The wind was brutal – there were times when I was running straight into a headwind when I felt like I was moving slower than a walk! Now I know how my brother Sean felt when he ran the Halifax marathon last year. I have no idea what sort of distance I covered since this is a fairly new neighbourhood and the streets aren’t on Google maps yet and therefore I can’t map out my run on either wayfaring or using the gmap pedometer.

Since Steve and I did an hour and a half last week, I opted to do only an hour this week since I want to start ramping down before starting the real training at the end of the month. Dave and I are still undecided if we’ll be doing the “Hyperthermic Half Marathon” here in Ottawa at the end of the month. I’m thinking probably not, since that is the last weekend before we move and we still have a lot to do before then.
