Hurray! He’s finally here!!! After a couple of really tough days for Amy, our son is finally born! As you can likely tell from the title of this post, we named him Liam. I say ‘we’ named him Liam, but in reality Amy let me have my way this time because I’ve been saying I was going to name my first son Liam for a long time. Amy ended up going in for a c-section and it’s probably better she did because Liam came out weighing a whopping 9 pounds, 12 and a half ounces! Happy to say he wasn’t the heaviest baby of the day, that honour went to the 9 pound, 15 ounce baby! Liam is quite long (like his dad) too, measuring in at 22 inches. Amy is at the hospital resting right now (I got kicked out because we didn’t get a private room) so I’m here at home, drinking a couple of beers (thanks for the suggestion Trev!) and posting this note. I’ll be heading back to the hospital in the morning. I believe visiting hours are between 1800 and 2000 and we’d love to see you if you have time to stop in. [...]
Posted by Kevin, on September 25th, 2006 Amy and I are on our way to the hospital where Amy will be induced. More than likely we’ll be sent back home and told to go back later. We’ll see… [...]

Posted by Kevin, on September 20th, 2006 Yesterday I sent an email to a couple of old friends of mine, Erica and Rashmi, who I haven’t talked to in a long time. Turns out they are both doing great (as I expected) and are busy with expanding families. Erica even sent me a couple of pictures of her little girl and my God…does she ever remind me of Erica – what a little cutie! As for Rashmi – turns out she is expecting her second child near the end of October. Congratulations Rashmi! Anyways, it was great to hear from them and hopefully I can do a better job of keeping in touch with the two of them. I told them both about my blog here so perhaps at the very least I’ll see some comments from them every now and then. And if anyone else out there I haven’t talked to in a while stumbles across my blog by chance, drop me an email to say hi. [...]

Posted by Kevin, on September 15th, 2006 Dave headed off for vacation last night around 2200 or so. Not long after that, by 2400 anyways, his server has become unreachable. This just after he promised to update his blog with his adventures while away on his vacation. Not sure what happened at his place – did the power go out and the server fail to start up again, did his IP address change and not get updated on his DNS servers? Who knows, but I feel his pain. The same thing happened to me when we went to NZ last year. Of course at that time I wasn’t using Flickr! to store my photos, I was still using gallery on my server so I couldn’t even upload photos! At least we should be able to see some Photos from Dave while he’s away… I’ve suggested he post to his blog on this site instead (and move the posts back to his site when he gets back), unsure if he’ll take me up on that suggestion. At the suggestion of Robbie (on Friday night at the Dr. Teeth year end party), a bunch of us went out on Sunday afternoon for some disc golf at Jacque Cartier Park. The course (18 holes) is one that is maintained by the Ottawa Disc Golf Club and was the first course put in around Ottawa. Since then there have been a couple more courses introduced, including a 9 hole in Kanata and an 18 hole at Camp Fortune – neither of which I have ever played, but I digress (as usual). I hadn’t played for at least a couple of years so I was anxious to get out and see how I did, and I’m glad I did cause it was a really good time. [...]

As I’m sure most everyone has heard by now, the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, died on Sunday after being impaled in the heart by a stingray barb while filming a documentary. For me personally this is very very sad news. I was a bit in shock when Amy told me. I loved this guy, he was just one of those people you can’t help but like. I had hoped to meet him someday but sadly that’s not going to happen now. My heart goes out to his family. [...]

Does anyone out there know why this little device is listed as “Not compatible with iPod Shuffle”? Here is a link to the manufacturer’s page on the item. It clearly states it’s not compatible with the iPod shuffle but I’m not sure why.
Here is a similar device that is sold on Tigerdirect.ca that is listed as an “iPod Shuffle car charger”. What is the difference?! If I buy this second one, will it still charge my regular iPod or iPod mini?
