Well we heard back from Holitzner yesterday – they left us a message saying that there was no way we would be able to get into the new house before Feb 15th. Not even one day early – that’s too bad, especially considering other houses in the neighbourhood have been done as much as a month early. We told them back in November (right after we sold our place) that we wanted to get in by the 30th of January (15 days early) if that was possible. We assumed this information had been passed on to whoever needed to know it and were patiently waiting to hear back if it was going to be possible. Well I was in to the sales office on the 2nd and the foreman, Barry, happened to stop by. I mentioned something to him about us wanting to get in early and it was the first he had heard of it! WTF?! Given that it was January 2nd and we were hoping to get into the house by the 30th and this was the first he had heard of it, I’m not too surprised that we can’t get in early. It is really too bad that our request back in November was never communicated to Barry. I think if he had known then, they could have easily shaved 15 days off the closing date. It’s very disappointing to say the least. Now we definitely have to pay for 2 moves plus storage. That is at least an extra 1K. :( [...]
