Well it’s finally over – all of our stuff has now been moved into storage until Feb 15th at which time it will all be moved into the new house. The moving part went pretty smoothly actually, it was the packing and the cleaning / clearing out part that was hell.
We thought we were in pretty good shape going into the weekend before the move. We even went to bed early on Saturday night after having spent the whole day packing. By Sunday at midnight we knew we were in trouble. I ordered Amy to bed (she had to get up for court the next day) and continued to pack. By 4 am Monday morning my body had had enough – my throat was killing me and the rest of me was really achy. I had been up for 21 hours at that point. I collapsed into to bed – only to drag myself out 3 and a half hours later to get ready for the movers to show up. [...]
Posted by Kevin, on January 26th, 2006 I called up PCF yesterday to see why my mortgage payment didn’t come out of my account last Friday. They informed me that they had received a request from my lawyer for a payout amount. Ok – but since we aren’t paying off the mortgage until the 30th of January, why didn’t my payment come out on the 20th? [...]

Today is the official start to my 18 week marathon training program. After running with Dave (and Steve) for the last 13 weeks or so, this week should feel pretty easy.
Dave and I are going to follow the novice program by Hal Higdon, which is the same program I used last year before spraining my ankle late in the training routine. Hopefully this year will be better. At least I’ll have someone to train with on those days when I really don’t feel like running. [...]

Posted by Kevin, on January 19th, 2006 And the running continues. I skipped Tuesday but ran last night. Five miles in 44 and a half minutes. A slower pace than I normally run but it’ll do. I’m really losing motivation to run these days so it’ll be nice to start running with the boys again soon. I have a feeling the two moves and the time in between will be a killer to my running routine but we’ll see. I’ll be living closer to Lawson so maybe I can do some running with him for motivation. Posted by Kevin, on January 16th, 2006 Seems like a while since I’ve posted about running. In actuality I guess it’s only been a week. Anyways, I’m still running. Did an hour outside on Saturday in Bowmanville. We were down visiting Amy’s sisters (and their husbands of course) mainly because it was Amy’s nephew’s birthday – he turned two. As a side note, the party was fun – apart from one little hellian (who will remain nameless) who was out of control. Anyways, I got up late (around 0930) on Saturday and went for an hour long run. I basically ran around the neighbourhood until an hour was up. The wind was brutal – there were times when I was running straight into a headwind when I felt like I was moving slower than a walk! Now I know how my brother Sean felt when he ran the Halifax marathon last year. I have no idea what sort of distance I covered since this is a fairly new neighbourhood and the streets aren’t on Google maps yet and therefore I can’t map out my run on either wayfaring or using the gmap pedometer. Posted by Kevin, on January 11th, 2006 The brand spanking new iMac with an intel processor (Core Duo) or the older (but still new) G5 iMac? For the same price you seem to get Bluetooth 2.0 and Airport Extreme thrown in on the brand spanking new iMac as compared to the G5 iMac. Everything else is the same. They also claim that the new iMac (with the Intel Core Duo) is twice as fast as the old G5 iMac. Seems like a no brainer right? But is there bound to be problems with a brand new product? Given my experience with new products, I would expect at least some problems. I may not even end up purchasing either (depends on what [...]
Posted by Kevin, on January 11th, 2006 This month’s poker night was at Giffin’s place. We got started late (apparently his directions were less than perfect) and we ended early. The game went really quickly for some reason. I was first out, after losing to what I thought was a bluffing Darcy. Oh well, it meant I got to deal for the rest of the game. In the end it was Darcy as the big winner, followed by Chris and Giffin in third place. Since the game finished so early, we opted to play a bit more with a $10 buy in, and you could cash out at any time. I borrowed another $10 from Robbie and proceeded to lose it pretty quick. Once again I ended up dealing rather than playing but I had fun nonetheless. [...]
Posted by Kevin, on January 8th, 2006 So I’ve been slacking off in my running since before Christmas. The last run I did was a short 3 miler on the Tuesday before Christmas. All the travelling we did didn’t help and then getting sick when we got back home just did me in. Anyways, yesterday, with the help of Steve I got back on the horse. I had suggested we do a 10 mile run (since I haden’t run in 2 and a half weeks I didn’t want to over do it) but Steve suggested we just run for 1.5 hours instead. Since it’s winter and the trails are very snow covered, running for distance may end up just being discouraging which is why Steve suggested we run for time instead. [...]
Posted by Kevin, on January 6th, 2006 The good old haggaret.com server will be taking a short trip tomorrow morning to Steve’s place. Since my internet connection is getting shut down at the end of the month, and wont be getting hooked back up at the new place until the middle of February, I’ve asked Steve to find some real estate in his place for the server. The move means we’ll be out of commission for about an hour or so, starting around 0900. [...]
