I got the word from work that I had to make a trip to a customer site to replace some hardware and monitor the system for a while. The beauty part is that the Customer is located near LA, California! So here I am in sunny California.
I flew into LAX and picked up my rental car. The woman at the rental place asked me if I was ok with taking a Mustang convertible. Ummm…yeah, I think I can handle that.
After picking up the car, I consulted my Google Maps route to get me to the hotel I was staying at in Long Beach. Carlson Waglonlit had booked me into the Holiday Inn on Atlantic Ave. Here was the view from my room’s window.
I opted to change hotels after the first night there. Lots of noise around there, sirens and car alarms and even the noise of dogs fighting.
I’m now down closer to the water at the Courtyard Marriott and I’m pretty happy with this place. My room looks out over the pool, but it’s a better view than before so I can’t complain too much.
I’ve been to the customer site and swapped out their harware and starting on Monday I’ll be monitoring their system for at least the next week or so. Looks like work may have a few more sites for me to visit while I’m ‘in the area’ so who knows where I’ll be after next week.
Took a trip down the coast today, to just past Dana’s Point. It was a nice drive and I got to see lots of nice cars on the road. I’ve taken a few photos, and you can check them all out here.
That’s about it for now. Still adjusting to the time difference. Getting up early is relatively easy but staying up late is a different story. Tomorrow will be my long run that I didn’t do today. I figured out where I’m going to run though…
