I think I may have a new plan for my home media centre. I saw that the ‘new’ iMac G5 comes standard with an iSight built in, as well as airport extreme wireless and bluetooth too. If you combine it with a wireless keyboard and mouse, plus the remote that also comes with it, and my USB TV tuner, this thing would definitely work hanging on my wall. The only problem is that the largest screen you can get is 20″.
I’m pretty excited about it right now, but by the time I’m ready to purchase a new computer – which will probably be early next year – something else may come out that catches my eye.
Amy and I will be looking for a TV to hang on the wall in our bedroom at the new place so my current thoughts are that maybe my money would be better spent getting this new iMac. Of course having the computer in the bedroom doesn’t really make that much sense so…
Anyways, I’m pretty excited about this new iMac. I’m also digging the new video iPod, but I think Apple really missed the boat with not giving them recording capabilities. I mean how much more would an MPEG-4 encoder add to it?
