New Camera Case

I took my camera, a Canon Powershot S2 IS back into Henry’s today because when looking through the viewfinder, the image was really blury. I brought my receipt with me because I figured the camera would have to be sent back in for repair with Canon.

Lucky for me, I got probably the best sales person they have at that store. He fixed me up in about 10 seconds. Turns out the diopter adjustment for the viewfinder had been moved. D’Oh! Talk about me feeling like a complete idiot. Oh well.

The good news was that I started talking to this guy about different accessories for my camera. We talked about different lens ‘add-ons’ like the one that Boris got for his camera recently. I’m now thinking of purchasing an add-on that will take my optical zoom level from 12x to 24x! Of course I really don’t have much use for that, but it would still be cool! :)

Anyways, I asked the guy about what a good bag would be for my camera. He pulled down a box off the shelf that had a Canon bag specifically made for the PowerShot S IS series of camera packaged with a Panasonic battery charger and 4 batteries. I told him that I had bought that exact charger and batteries in June when I bought the camera. Since I had my receipt with me, I showed him.

He told me that just that morning the staff had a meeting about empowering the employees to make sure the customer was happy. He decided to empower himself and offer to sell me the camera bag for the difference in price between what they wanted for the bag/charger combo and what I paid for the charger and batteries back in June. It worked out to me getting the Canon bag (a leather one) for $23 so I took the deal.

All in all a very pleasant experience at Henry’s this time around. I’ll definitely be keeping them in mind when I do get around to purchasing a wide angle lens for my camera.
