I put my new GPS Receiver mount on my mountain bike handlebars tonight and went for a spin. Talk about sweet! I left the display on the ‘trip computer’ the whole time which gave me: distance, moving time, stopped time, overall average speed, speed, max speed, moving average speed and total time. It was easy to read which made me happy.
Numbers: 20 km (plus a short cool down); just under 48 minutes; 25.2 km/h average speed with a max of 31.7 km/h. Nothing stellar, but I got to try out my new GPS mount AND my new biking shorts. I like them both.
Forgot to mention – saw a beaver on my ride. I actually rode right past it. To be honest, I was a little nervous, I really didn’t know how it was going to react. I tried shouting at it before I got up to it to scare it away but no effect. Anyways, it didn’t seem to mind too much, just sort of got out of my way at the last second.
I also saw a jack rabbit on this ride.
Wait a second, you were afraid of a beaver? Ha ha ha ha ha!
For some reason I got it in my mind that they could be quite nasty if they were scared. I blame that Canadian beer commercial. Think about it…giant front teeth…they would be way worse than that ‘bunny rabbit’ in the Monty Python movie.
