This is going to be short because I’m pretty wiped out. That is my time for the half marathon I ran today. I’m not overly impressed with it but at least I kept it under 2 hours. Not running for the past two and a half weeks didn’t help me any, that’s for sure.

For those who may have been following Grant and my trash talking…he kicked my ass! His time was 1:45:48.7

I lost him somewhere between the 9 and 10 km mark. He kept running at his pace and I slowed up a bit. Saw him again on the hairpin part of the couse, he was going one way and I was going the other and then didn’t see him again.

Anyways, glad I didn’t delude myself into thinking I could run the marathon because I’d probably still be out there right now if I had. I missed out on a nicer shirt and a water bottle but oh well, maybe next year.

Steve did very well on his marathon, came in at 3:30:53.8 A significant improvement over his 3:46 from the year before.

Anyways…good times. I’m seriously considering running the full marathon next year.

I had heard that there were 8000 people running the half this year. The results page only shows finishes up to 5823rd place. Is it possible that many people didn’t finish the race?!

    Hey Man, just remember:

    “You did Good”. Ha ha.
Well, after a nice soak in the whirlpool with epsom salts, I went to bed at 9:30. Watched American Dad, and fell asleep.

Booked myself for a 1 hour massage on wednesday, and am hoping to be running again by Thursday. Only 4 weeks till my 48 hour race!

As far as running the full next year…. well, if you do it, I’ll have to do it again, won’t I. Aw crap…

Good job guys, pb’s for everybody! My legs were pretty stiff yesterday. Walking down stairs is still a bit tough today, 2 days after the race.

Good times though, I may do it again next year, but I have no intentions of running the full marathon. With another wee-one due to arrive in December, by the time spring arrives I’m sure I’ll want to spend most of my free time sleeping rather than training.

Tip for next year Kev – shake the sand out of your shoes before the race!
