Slim Devices – the way a company should work!

Man those Slim Devices guys are on the ball! I’ve been having a few issues lately with my squeezebox, mostly problems with it staying connected to the slimserver. It would periodically lose its connection and then eventually sync up again. I’ve also been having problem with large playlists. I can’t say for sure when this trouble started, but I’m sure it was after an upgrade to the slimserver. I try to keep up with all the latest releases. But I digress… After upgrading yet again and not seeing my problems solved, in fact things got A LOT worse, I decided it was time to do something. I happily responded to his email with the information requested. Now I am anxiously awaiting his analysis. But…being a support guy myself (granted for a much different product) I know that these things sometimes take time. [...]

I had already bailed on him the weekend before so there was no way I wasn’t going to make it this time. I met Grant at his place around 0800 Sunday morning. The plan was to leave relatively early so we weren’t riding during the hottest part of the day. The route was to Champlain Lookout and back, a distance of around 51 km. Originally Grant had planned a 72 km ride for himself but when he heard I was coming along, he changed it. What a guy! [...]
