After my first cross country, I booked my next cross country for the following Sunday, but that seemed like too long to wait to go flying again so I decided to go again on Wednesday. I decided that I would fly some circuits to get back in the groove.
Showed up at the club for my 5 o’clock booking, hoping to get someone to sign me out for some circuits. Luc was around, so I got him to sign me out. Thankfully, since I had already finished my solo time in the practice area, I didn’t need an instructor to come up with me for a couple of circuits before letting me go alone. That would have been a pain, not to mention that it would cost me more. :)
Had a decent crosswind (at pretty close to 90 degrees to the runway) the whole time I was flying the circuit. That was good practice and I didn’t have any problems with it which was nice. I flew for about an hour and by the end of it I was feeling like I was back in the saddle so to speak.
I’m really looking forward to the cross country on Sunday. We got a start on the flight planning in class on Wednesday, so I only have a few more lines to draw on my map before Sunday. Most of the planning really has to be done on the day of the flight, so I’ll still have lots to do on Sunday before my booking.
